NINE WINDS DISCOGRAPHY:NWCD0198 Queen Mab - Barbie's Other Shoe
Well known Canadian musicians Lori Freedman (clarinets) and Marilyn Lerner (piano) have joined forces to form their duo Queen Mab. Through improvisation and composition they have established a unique sound which vividly reflects their respective backgrounds in classical/new music & Jazz.
Their repertoire contains a large range of style, including gentle lullabies, quirky grooves, pulsating drives and orderly chaos, with surprise elements from MIDI wind and keyboard controllers.
Since their first appearance at the Vancouver Jazz Festival four years ago, Queen Mab has received enthusiastic response from enchanted audiences everywhere. Their debut CD entitled Barbie's Other Shoe, has been released on the Nine Winds label. They are currently touring both in Canada and the United States, and will be performing in Europe next season.
