Wolfgang Fuchs

Premiere
German improviser and multi-reed player Wolfgang Fuchs has led the improvising
large group, King Übü Orchestrü for over two decades
and was artistic director of the Berlin Total Music Meeting in 2001
and 2002. Fuchs has led workshops in Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain,
and USA and has collaborated with musicians such as Fred Van Hove, Paul
Lytton, Georg Katzer, Cecil Taylor, Tony Oxley, Barry Guy, Hans Koch,
Peter van Bergen, Phil Minton, Phil Wachsmann, Alex von Schlippenbach,
Sven-Åke Johansson, Günter Christmann, John Russell, Fernando
Grillo, and Evan Parker. Current projects include working as soloist
and in Lingua (with Thomas Lehn, Fabrizio Spera), Three October Meetings
(Damon Smith, Jerome Bryerton), Contrabassclarinet-Project (with Françoise
Kubler, Armand Angster, Paul Lovens), King Übü Örchestrü,
and THE NEW FLAGS (with Xu Fengxia and Roger Turner).
